What is Excel?

Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program developed by Microsoft. It is used to store data, perform calculations, organize information, and create charts and reports.

Basic Structure of Excel

Columns

Columns run vertically from top to bottom. They are labeled with letters such as A, B, C, and so on. In modern Excel, there are 16,384 columns in one worksheet.

Cells

A cell is the intersection of a row and a column. For example, A1, B2, and C5 are cell references. Cells are used to enter data, numbers, and formulas.
